LCHA shows are PAC approved by the American Paint Horse
Association!
LCHA offers an open
judged show the first Saturday of each month except
January, July, and December. Shows are open to riders
of all disciplines and skill levels. Novice classes
are offered. Members who compete earn points and are
eligible for year-end High Point Awards.
A registration form
is required for all show class entrants—a separate
registration form must be completed for each horse/rider
combo. The Registration Form is available at the show
or may be printed below.

Show
Attire Guidelines
LCHA utilizes the
rulebook of the American Quarter Horse Association in
conducting all shows. The following guidelines regarding
appropriate show attire have been taken from the 2013
AQHA Rule Book:
English:
In all English classes, riders should wear hunt coats
of traditional colors such as navy, dark green, grey,
black or brown. Maroon and red are improper. Breeches
are to be of traditional shades of buff, khaki, canary,
light grey or rust (or jodhpurs), with high English
boots or paddock (jodhpur) boots of black or brown.
Black, navy blue or brown hard hat (with harness for
youth in any over fence classes) is mandatory. A tie
or choker is required. Gloves, spurs of the unrowelled
type that are blunt, round or that include a smooth
rolling rubber ball and no longer than one inch and
crops and bats are optional. Hair must be neat and contained
(as in net or braid). Judges must penalize contestants
who do not conform. (AQHA Handbook, 2010, p. 53/274)
